Communities of practice could have different forms and rely on different methods. Some depend heavily on annual events, conferences and workshops while others are organized around web-based databases and newsletters. It takes a proper analysis, planning and exact execution of the plan to create a successful community of practice. Below are some examples of the projects currently in progress:

Creating community of practitioners Corporate Social Responsibility Ukraine

CSR is a new emerging topic in Ukraine at the moment. Whilst there are not less than 5 organizations exclusively dedicated to the topic, CSR practitioners in the companies are still struggling to find one source of information on the major news, reports ad events in the area. We are currently working with the Centre for Corporate Citizenship on the CSR Ukraine’s community of practice’s concept and its delivery (to be launched commercially in autumn 2007).

Creating database of Polish-Ukrainian economic relations

Polish-Ukrainian trade relations are increasing from year to year. Recently even the Financial Times has dedicated an article to the topic. Jointly with the Ukrainian-Polish Chamber of Commerce we are currently exploring how to capture the information about the trade and investment projects between the two countries and how to provide knowledge retrieval and analysis services around it.
